Centering Systems

With the new centering systems available from Applied Composites Engineering, checking and centering your automotive glass to a center datum is no longer a guessing game. These systems can center all sizes of glass from a sunroof to a bus windshield. All systems can be fitted to a check gage, assembly fixture or sold as a stand-alone unit to be incorporated with your existing gage system.

Three Systems Are Currently Available:
Our fully automatic system is a robust unit that has been in commercial operation for four years. This dynamic centering system is self tuning to provide centering of glass better than 0.1 mm. Glass weight, size, bend, male or female gage surface and the changing resistance of friction between glass and gage surface is consistently tuned assuring centered glass in all environments. Whether operator or robotic load, this system can be easily tied into your data acquisition programming for hands freeactivation of sensors and data collection. Where glass is large and cumbersome, you will not find a better system on the market today. Patent Pending!
Our best value is the digital centering system where the operator positions the glass. No more subjective moves, fingertip feel or eye alignment. The digital, "CROS", (Centering Read Out System), allows the QC or Supervisory staff to set a pre-determined bandwidth of acceptance. The operator is fed back the distance to move visually on a bar graph. Once in an acceptable range, a red and green light display informs the operator of their success. This unit can also be tied into your data acquisition system and assure no readings will be recorded until the glass is within the centered tolerance.
— For the cost conscious, our analogue CROS system is unbeatable. The analogue read out gives the operator a large precise feed back on how accurate he or she has positioned the glass. Instructions can be given on what is and is not acceptable eliminating the subjective feel from the operator.
— Both our "CROS" systems were designed and built for the sole purpose of centering automotive glass and come complete with all necessary hardware ready to bolt on.
